Children’s Therapy Program
Occupational, Physical, and Speech-Language Therapists see children from birth until school entry (0 – 5 years) that are at risk for or have developmental delays. The Autism Spectrum Disorders team sees children from birth until 19 years that are diagnosed with, or have a suspected autism spectrum disorder.
Physical therapists, occupational therapists and therapy assistants provide hands on treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings, consultation, as well as specialized service in the areas of seating, dysphagia, transfers and mobility assessments/recommendations. They provide treatment services to people in their own homes, in community health centres, and long-term care facilities throughout the health region.
Occupational, Physical, and Speech-Language Therapists see anyone who has suffered from a stroke.
Inpatient and Outpatient Services
Physical and occupational therapists provide a continuum of care from acute onset to functional recovery with clients who are neurologically impaired, post-surgical, have acute respiratory or COPD, musculoskeletal conditions, soft tissue injuries, and hand injuries.
Back to work programs, orthotics, intensive physical and occupational services, and consultative speech-language services are available.
