Client and Family Centred Care Videos

The Client and Family Centred Care (CFCC) Team has developed the following videos to promote the 4 core concepts of patient and family centred care* (scroll down to view):

Respect and Dignity:

Healthcare providers and staff listen to and honour patient and family perspectives and choices.

Patient and family knowledge, values, beliefs and cultural backgrounds are incoporated into the planning and delivery of care.

Information Sharing:

Healthcare providers and staff communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful.

Patients and families receive timely, complete and accurate information in order to effectively participate in care and decision-making.


Patients and families are encouraged and supported in participating in care and decision-making at the level they choose.


Patients, families, healthcare providers, staff and leaders collaborate in policy and program development, implementaiton and evaluation; in healthcare facility design; in profssional education; and in the delivery of care.



Why were the Client and Family Centred Care (CFCC) Videos Created?

Staff Education:  The CFCC committee and Sunrise Health Region want to engage as many staff as possible in the culture of CFCC.  Telling the patient and family story is a way to touch on the emotions of staff, so that they can see the importance of providing care in partnership with the client and family

Public Awareness:  These videos were created to help bring awareness of the CFCC concepts to the public.  The intent is to help the client and their family to be aware of their role in health care, that they are a valued team member and that their care providers respect what they tell them.
