Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is a skill that both you and your baby learn. A good start helps to make breastfeeding a positive experience for both mom and baby. To find out more on breastfeeding skills, watch the Breastfeeding Information video.

Local Supports for Breastfeeding

Lactation Consultants - International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC)
There are Certified Lactation Consultants available in Sunrise Health Region to provide service for breastfeeding families. Services provided by an IBCLC include phone consults, home visits, office visits, individual or group education sessions, facilitator for community groups to provide breastfeeding support, advocate for breastfeeding families and as an educator for health care professionals. If you are interested in the services of one of our Lactation Consultants, please call the Early Visiting Program at 306-786-0625 or Lactation Services at 306-786-0886.  

Lactation Consultant Referral

There is a Breastfeeding Support Clinic every Wednesday 1-3 pm (drop-in), Yorkton Public Health, 150 Independent Street, Yorkton.

Milk drop locations allow donor mothers to safely and conveniently drop off their milk. The Yorkton Milk Drop, which is located on the Maternity Ward of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, ensures the safe handling, storage and transport of donated human milk.
